EASTERN EUROPE GROUP- Dinner

How is the Russian economy adapting to the war situation?

For our 114th rendezvous, with the help of Julien Vercueil, we'll be looking at how the Russian economy is adapting to the war situation?
Adapting an economy to a war situation is a complex process, studied in the past by authors such as Oskar Lange and John Maynard Keynes. In Russia's current case, the situation is made difficult to decipher by the fact that the war has not been officially recognized by the aggressor. How has the Russian economy adapted to the war situation created by the invasion of February 24, 2022? What have been the main economic decisions taken by the authorities to date? What means of shock regulation (recession, sanctions) are available for the future?

Julien Vercueil is professor of economics and vice-president of Inalco, researcher at the Centre de recherches Europes Eurasie (Inalco), co-director of the BRICs seminar (Inalco-FMSH-Université Paris Cité). He is the author of "Economie politique de la Russie 1918-2018", Le Seuil (Points) and coordinated the special issue of the Revue d'Économie Financière entitled "Guerre en Ukraine: déflagrations et recompositions économiques et financières" (n°147, 2022/3).
As we'll soon be 30 years old, we'll be taking this opportunity to begin preparations for our 30th birthday party in March 2024. Our first meeting dates back to March 21, 1994!
The schedule is as follows
6:45 p.m.: start of the aperitif
7.30pm: start of dinner
For information, the next Group dinner will take place on December 4.
We look forward to welcoming you,
Thierry Breuillac (ESCP 73), delegate for the Eastern Europe Group.
