Outlet and brand villages: 40 years of existence, outlook and challenges

ESCP Europe Alumni's FASHION group invites you to its next round table discussion

"Outlet and brand villages: 40 years of existence perspectives and challenges"
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2014 at 7:00 pm
at ESCP Europe, 79 avenue de la République 75011 Paris (amphi 5217)

Outlet stores are still raising questions, 40 years after the 1st centers were built.
In the age of cross-channel retailing and the pressures of the economic downturn on the retail sector, are outlet stores seen as an opportunity or a threat, and are they themselves under threat?
How do brands manage this business? What are the codes?
When should a brand consider opening an outlet store?
How are market players approaching emerging markets?
What are the implications of upmarket shopping centers?
Do these strategies depend on country regulations or brand positioning?

Let's decipher these questions, with contributions from two retailers and a brand village expert:
- Caroline LAMY: Director of Magdus, the European observatory of outlet centers and factory outlets, and consultant.
- Ana JAUREGUIBERRY: Retail purchasing manager for China and Russia at Lancel
- Jean-François JUNG: European supply manager outlets at Devanlay Lacoste

Debate conceived and moderated by Mélanie SAUVAGE (97) and Alain WIART (81).
The round table will be followed by a cocktail reception.
