ESCP Alumni Magazine n°211: Geopolitics, a major challenge for business

Geopolitics is everyone's business

The world is changing, and changing fast. Geopolitics is no longer just a matter for diplomats: it now affects our businesses, our careers and our daily decisions. War in Ukraine, tensions between China and the United States, the rise of populism... These upheavals are directly shaping the economy and business. A pioneer with its European identity and locations in six major cities, ESCP understood the importance of this turning point very early on.

In 2021, with the Public Affairs specialisation in the Master in Management programme, and then in 2022 with the Master in International Business & Diplomacy, the School affirmed its ambition: to train decision-makers capable of navigating a complex world. This momentum will continue with the creation of a Geopolitical Institute in 2025 and will be furthered in 2029 with a creation of a School of Governance. This is a strong ambition, commensurate with today's challenges.

In this issue, we invite you to explore the growing link between business and geopolitics.

🌍 The Big Interview: Geopolitics has become a major issue… Sylvia Malinbaum (MiM 15), Aurélien-Patrick Maudonnet (MiM 05), Julien Pincet (ESCP 2000), Antoine Starcky (MEB 10), Jean-Christophe Caffet (ESCP 03), Phillip Tettenborn (MiM 11) and Joachim Bitterlich, Professor at ESCP, share their insights on this strategic variable that has become essential today.
