GROUPE PAYS DE LOIRE - Theatre evening

A few days before the D-Day landings in June 1944, two childhood friends face the ultimate choice: betrayal or sacrifice. One wants to protect his children and will betray his friends by staying put, while the other commits himself and risks everything for the love of his family.

"Les nuits de la colère" asks us a fundamental question: to what extent can fear be an excuse for our behavior or our renunciations? When fate strikes, should we trade our freedom for comfort, or resist for our values?

In this play by Armand Salacrou, written by a Resistance fighter just after the war, the destinies and choices of eight people in the face of adversity are presented to us in a series of flashbacks. This theatrical device, sublimated by the play of light, accentuates the dramatic tension and modernizes the narrative.

The Je-dis-théâtre troupe, directed by Marie Verdier, interprets this text in a modern, powerful version, transporting us to the question: What would we have done?
