In September 2006, 43 ESCP Europe alumni and spouses gathered at the CHATEAU de VAUGAUDRY (CHINON), setting a regional and probably national record for attendance!
According to the GUIDE HACHETTE des VINS 2007, " VAUGAUDRY, another Mecca of the Picrocholine War! The current château was rebuilt in 1850 on the remains of the former noble house of VAUGAUDRY. It is surrounded by a wall that forms a 58-hectare walled enclosure. The vineyard, which had once disappeared, was restored in 1980. It now covers more than 12 ha. The resulting CHINON has an open bouquet with notes of toast, raspberry and vanilla. Pleasantly fruity on the palate, it combines an enveloping body with elegant tannins. Its vocation for ageing is certain ".

11:30 am: Welcome of participants
11:45 am: Visit to the estate, cellars, winery and vineyards, as well as the 15th-century Castel, a group of self-catering cottages; talk by Marc BELLOY on Touraine wines, the "CHINON" appellation and its different types of wine.
Wine tasting (rosé and red wines from the estate can be purchased at "de la Cave" prices) and local produce in the winery, followed by a Chinon buffet lunch, accompanied by wines from "Château de Vaugaudry" kindly donated by Marc BELLOY.

And, on this occasion, I'll be handing over the ESCP Europe CENTRE Group's leadership torch to Yves CAZENAVE (MBA 99), as I'm now living in BORDEAUX.

After lunch, at 16:00 (at the latest and for those interested) : Digestive and cultural walk visiting the ROYAL ABBEY of FONTEVRAUD located 15 km from Vaugaudry (admission €9).
