Electrical energy storage: Applications, technologies and challenges

Electricity storage is an essential part of the energy transition to renewable energies to combat_CO2 emissions and climate change.

Dominique Guyomard, Director of Research at the CNRS and President of the International Battery Association, will give us an overview of the current situation in electrical energy storage, focusing on hydrogen storage and, above all, batteries.

We will describe lithium-ion battery technologies, which have been awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 2019, and for which an extremely fast-growing market and the emergence of new applications are expected.

We'll look at the challenges that remain for the future, focusing on cost, energy storage, safety, and environmental impact (natural reserves, life cycle analysis).

The expected global trend and Europe's position via the Airbus battery project will also be discussed.

Evening schedule

6:30 pm: Participants are welcomed and assigned to tables of four.
7:00 pm: Presentation & Debate
8:00 pm: CEMOIKI (open sharing related to the context)
8:30 pm - 10:00 pm: Exchanges and networking during dinner platters served at tables.

Participation fee 18€.
