Media Group : "AI in cinema and series" round table discussion

Creative revolution or speculative bubble?

It's back to school time, and we're delighted to welcome you to our first round table of the year!

Co-organized by the ESCP and ESSEC Media Groups, it will focus on a particularly topical subject: "The impact of Artificial Intelligence on series and film production".

In fast-changing ecosystems, AI is now making its way onto movie sets. And beyond the provocation of imagining a production produced entirely by AI winning a prize at the Cannes Film Festival or Séries Mania, it's essential to consider the concrete implications for content creation and production.

What challenges, but also what opportunities, does AI offer industry professionals?

To shed light on these issues, we will be pleased to welcome industry professionals who use AI on a daily basis:

  • Marianne Carpentier, Director of Innovation & Technology at Newen. Marianne is in charge of innovation at Newen, where she focuses on the uses of AI in audiovisual production. With her expertise, she also explores new virtual production solutions, which are changing the way series and films are created.
  • Serge Hayat, Fédération studios, Cinémage, Echo Studio (ESSEC 1986). Writer, producer and media entrepreneur, Serge is an expert in film and series financing in France and abroad (over 600 films, including 200 in category A festivals and 3 Palmes d'Or awards). Deeply involved in the creative process, but also in new technologies, he will talk to us about the changes that AI is bringing to the production of audiovisual and cinematographic content.
  • Ardavan Safaee, President of Pathé Films (ESCP 2006). As President of Pathé Films, Ardavan oversees major projects in French cinema. He will share his strategic vision of the impact of AI on production and the future of the film industry in the face of these innovations.

Presentation and moderation by :

The round-table discussion will be followed by a cocktail reception, where we'll be able to continue our discussions and meet other professionals in a convivial atmosphere, in partnership with La Revue du Vin de France (Marie-Claire group), which will be offering a selection of wines for tasting.

We look forward to seeing you all at this event dedicated to innovation in the audiovisual and film industries!
