The evening will be attended by Dr Silvie Memel Kassi, Director of the Musée des civilisations de Côte d'Ivoire, who will discuss these issues with us.

Voted for by President Macron, the restitution to African countries of their works of art present in France was acted upon in principle by the report delivered at the end of 2018 by Bénédicte Savoy and Felwine Sarr.

The report refers to 90,000 works of art from sub-Saharan Africa in French public collections, and recommends "definitive and unconditional" restitution.

But what is the legal and practical feasibility of this approach? How has it been received on the African continent? And where does the process stand?

A cocktail will close the evening.
